What is Permanent Makeup?
Also referred as Permanent Cosmetics, cosmetic tattooing and micropigmentation, Permanent makeup has become one of the most popular cost-benefit, rejuvenating not surgical treatments demanded today. Basically it is the cosmetic technique which implants or deposits colored pharmaceutical grade pigments into the upper reticular layer of the dermis. Tiny droplets of costume blended color are skillfully deposited, which is a form of traditional tattooing used to enhance features of the face. The process starts with an initial consultation followed by the actual procedure (safe implantation of pigment), and a follow up visit for adjusting the shape, color or density of the pigment. Properly applied permanent makeup can be more natural and realistic in appearance than conventional cosmetics.

How Long Does Each Procedure Take?
The initial procedure will generally take approximately 2 to 2 ½ hours; this includes a consultation where there are records to establish; photographs to take; desired design and color to discuss; the procedure to perform; and the aftercare requirements to discuss.Follow up or color refresher procedures usually do not require the same amount of time.
Are There Any Side Effects During or After the Procedure?
While eyebrows may show little after effect, eyeliner and lips may show slight to moderate swelling. This is very dependent upon the amount of work performed. As examples; an eyelash enhancement will show very little response to the tattooing procedure compared to a more moderate response when wide eyeliner is performed. The same philosophy applies to lip color procedures. A lip liner or blended lip liner will show less effects of the procedure than that of a full lip color. Also, some people swell more from minor skin infractions than others. During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding. This again, is client specific. Many people take blood thinners on a daily basis so some slight bleeding would be expected. Others show little or no signs of bleeding. Bruising is rare but again, if a person is on blood thinners, bruising could occur. What is seen more often is that eyebrows rarely if ever produce any bruising; minor bruising during eyeliner procedures is possible if the skin being tattooed is very thin and close to the vascular system. This also applies to lip procedures in the event the client is more mature. If bruising does occur, typically it is minor and subsides in a few days. There is usually some tenderness for a few days. The color is much darker than you may expect for the first six to ten days. Other less often reported side effects are difficult to determine due to the individuality of each person’s biological system. This is why professional permanent cosmetic technicians require a client history profile be filled out to assess different factors that may contribute to your experience after the tattooing procedure has been completed.
How long does Permanent Make up last? is it Permanent?
It is considered a PERMANENT treatment since color is implanted into the dermis and can not be washed off with conventional face wash or makeup remover. However, and unlike a body tattoo, permanent makeup may only last between 1 to 5 years depending on the person’s life style, daily skin care products used, sun exposure, medications, and chemical peels among other factor that may affect the longevity of the pigment. After the initial procedure it’s recommended to set a follow up visit once at year or every other year to do adjustments on shape if desired and or for color boosting.
Does it hurt?
Most people refer at the sensation as tweezing eyebrow hair, however patient’s comfort is a priority, for that reason a highly effective anesthetic cream is applied 15 minutes prior an a gel during the procedure to minimize any discomfort.

If I get Botox or fillers done, when should I get my permanent makeup procedures before or after?
Given that Botox has a temporary effect we recommend to have your Permanent makeup done before this kind of injectable is performed. After your procedure you should wait at least 2 weeks to get Botox applied. Fillers for lips should be done 6-8 weeks prior to your scheduled procedure or done 6-8 weeks after, when your lips are totally healed.
